We’re a bit of abuzz here at Emphasize this week. Two of our members are packing up and checking their passports to make sure they’ll make it out of Calgary and across the border to attend INBOUND 2013. Hosted by HubSpot in the great city of Boston, this annual event joins up thousands of inbound marketers from around the world. Held from August 19 to 22, INBOUND 2013 is where it all comes together. HubSpot hosts one of the best events of the year held anywhere, and it’s even been heavily hinted that a few celebrities may attend as well (Ben Affleck). INBOUND is where the brightest minds of several different fields combine to form a genuine, physical “hub” for four great days. It’s where we find inspiration in “inbound marketing”!
We at Emphasize are constantly working to hone our skills so that we can offer the most efficient, current and quality services to our clients. Calgary is a dynamic, growing city and all the businesses we represent carry both those traits as well. Website marketing requires an ability to be both proactive and reactive at the same time. To keep us energized and up-to-date, INBOUND is a great tool.
Highlights of INBOUND 2013
Along with the ability to network with other like-minded people, INBOUND 2013 will introduce attendees to the designers and developers of HubSpot, such as co-founders Dharmesh Shah and Brian Halligan. It’s an excellent opportunity to learn more about how HubSpot can benefit our clients and ourselves, plus be privy to a few of the new features coming up down the road.
Keynote speakers this year include Arianna Huffington, chair, president and editor-in-chief of the Huffington Post Media Group. Huffington launched the Huffington Post Media Group in 2005, which quickly became one of the most read and widely-used media brands in the world. Also speaking is Seth Godin, author, blogger and founder of squidoo.com. Godin is so adept at website marketing that his blog can be found simply by typing “seth” into Google. Also presenting is the amazing Nate Silver, who is known as one of the best statisticians available, plus innovators and thought leaders such as Scott Harrison, Nancy Duarte, Ann Handley, Dan Lyons, Marcus Sheridan, and David Meerman Scott are all scheduled to appear.
And what’s a convention without a good party? In what is surely the most popular evening of INBOUND, INBOUND Rocks this year will see the Grammy-nominated OneRepublic hit the stage at the Hynes Convention Center. Last year Cyndi Lauper was the guest of honour!
You need creativity to be able to come up with solutions for what your website conversion performance is trying to tell you. Some of the things we’ve been experimenting with lately are moving into more image-based content, such as supplying diagrams and informative graphics. We’re placing more emphasis on answering questions, and challenging ourselves and our clients to push boundaries.
